MASAI MARVEL EXPLORER

6 Days Kilimanjaro
Shira Route

The Shira Route with Engidetideti Safaris is an extraordinary path to conquer Kilimanjaro, offering a unique perspective of its diverse landscapes and breathtaking scenery. This route is favored for its relatively low traffic and the opportunity it provides for gradual acclimatization to the altitude.

Embarking on the Shira Route, trekkers are transported to higher elevations quickly, starting their journey at the Shira Gate. Engidetideti Safaris ensures a seamless start, guiding climbers through the rainforest zone where they witness a spectrum of flora and fauna unique to this region.

The route diverges from the Lemosho Route, unveiling its distinctiveness as it meanders through the Shira Plateau, a vast and mesmerizing high-altitude plateau. This path grants panoramic views of Kilimanjaro’s towering peaks and the surrounding landscape, an awe-inspiring backdrop for the ascent.

Engidetideti Safaris’ experienced guides expertly navigate the trail, enabling trekkers to gradually acclimatize to the increasing altitude. The route’s less crowded nature allows for a more serene and immersive experience, with overnight stays at Shira 1 Camp and Shira 2 Camp providing ample time for acclimatization and rest.

Continuing the ascent, the trail converges with the Lemosho and Machame Routes at Lava Tower before descending to Barranco Camp. This unique variation allows climbers to witness diverse terrains and ecosystems, making the journey both challenging and captivating.

As the trek approaches its pinnacle, the final push to Uhuru Peak, the highest point of Kilimanjaro, unfolds. Engidetideti Safaris’ meticulous planning and support ensure a safe and rewarding experience as climbers summit to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the African plains.

The descent retraces the path, offering a chance to reflect on the accomplishment of reaching the summit. Upon reaching the trail’s end, trekkers receive their well-deserved certificates at Mweka Gate, marking the successful completion of an unforgettable journey with Engidetideti Safaris.
