This route is renowned for its steep inclines and rapid altitude gain, making it a preferred choice for seasoned climbers seeking a more direct and adventurous path to Kilimanjaro’s summit.

Beginning at the Umbwe Gate, the trail winds through dense, lush rainforests, providing a serene start to the journey. Engidetideti Safaris’ expert guides navigate the challenging terrains, ensuring trekkers are well-equipped and motivated as they ascend.

As the trek progresses, the landscape transitions from the verdant rainforest to the captivating moorland, offering panoramic views of the surrounding vistas. The iconic Barranco Wall presents an exciting yet demanding section, demanding climbers to conquer its rocky face, adding an adrenaline rush to the experience.

Amidst the journey, the route offers moments of acclimatization, crucial for adapting to the escalating altitude. Campsites along the way, such as Umbwe Camp and Barranco Camp, provide much-needed rest and acclimatization breaks, ensuring climbers are prepared for the final ascent.

Approaching the summit, the trail leads through Arrow Glacier Camp, setting the stage for the exhilarating summit push. Engidetideti Safaris’ well-coordinated logistics and experienced guides facilitate a safe and awe-inspiring journey to Uhuru Peak, the summit of Kilimanjaro, where trekkers witness the breathtaking sunrise over the African plains.

The descent retraces the steps through varied terrains, allowing for reflection on the accomplishment of reaching the summit. As climbers return, they receive their well-deserved certificates at Mweka Gate, marking the successful completion of a challenging yet immensely rewarding journey with Engidetideti Safaris.
